AlphaClock – Free Clock for Windows
To my mind, the clock the Windows operating system is similar to other applications the operating system comes with – useful, but not good enough to impress me. Take Windows Explorer for example. It is useful, but it is not as good as Total Commander is. The clock is like that.
My beef with the clock is that it just sits there in the right hand corner of the screen – I would like to move it to another location if I could. I would also like to change the way the clock looks. Luckily there are 3rd party applications out there that can replace the clock in Windows.
Like the Irnis I.Haliullin-developed application AlphaClock. There are several bits and pieces you are going to like about this application. First of all you are going to like that it will take but a moment to get the application off the web and onto your computer. How long can the download take to complete when it weighs in at less than 100KB?
What you are downloading is an archive. All you have to do is extract the contents of the archive and run the acloc.exe file. That’s right, you do not have to install a thing. This means AlphaClock is also portable. You could put it on an USB stick for example and take it with you.
Unlike the default clock that just sits there in the right hand corner, you can drag and drop AlphaClock to any location on the screen. Also unlike the default clock, AlphaClock’s looks can be customized. You can select one of the many color schemes the software provides. Or you can come up with your own color scheme.
You can use AlphaClock on your Windows-powered computer for a long as you want without paying a dime in return. This is because AlphaClock is freeware.
AlphaClock is a free, customizable alternative to the default clock in Windows. It comes with many color schemes, lets you create your own color scheme, can run automatically at startup, and doesn’t have to be installed to run.
Pros
I wished I could make the AlphaClock window larger
